DIY Roundup, Vol. 2

This week’s DIY Roundup is saturated with lots of earth-friendly, natural ideas that I love! I hope you get some inspiration from these ideas – I definitely plan on crafting them up sometime soon, too! :)

1. Geometric Paperweights by Dot Coms for Moms

I love these simple and easy to make geometric paper weights. I think the white is really pure and beautiful, but experimenting with colors would add a great effect, too!

2. Natural Dyes from Vegetables by Free People

I’m so excited about this tutorial! Can’t wait to try it! I love things that are natural and made with love, so I really want to try making bracelets for friends with these homemade vegetable dyes. Who knew onions could create such beautiful colors? In this tutorial, they use beets, onions, and spinach (the spinach didn’t work), but some other vegetables you could try are blueberries, corn, squash, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, grapes, and eggplant, though I’m sure there are tons more! And this tutorial was created by Free People, one of my favorite brands – double win!

3. Easy, Tiny Envelopes by Ruth Bleakley

I am definitely a paper goods addict – I love making cards, envelopes, or anything that you can later add some words to and share with friends and family. This super easy tutorial is a great way to make unique envelopes from literally any paper you have.

4. Scalloped Photobooth Backdrop by Poppy Talk

How cute is this?! It would be great as a backdrop at a party, wedding, or even just an awesome wall in your house!

5. Tin Can Lanterns by Free People

These make me feel like I’m sitting on a deck outside on a warm summer night…meanwhile I live in a tiny apartment in cold, wintery Tokyo…but let’s imagine for a moment, shall we? :)

6. Wood Slice Chalkboard by Brittany’s Notebook

I love the chalkboard trend that’s been popping up so much lately. Like I said earlier, I love turning things into a place where you can write or leave messages. I also love that this one uses wood scraps – I think wood is so beautiful!

If you try any of these DIYs then be sure to leave a comment and let us know how it goes. :)

Have a great week and happy Monday!
